Bigo Live Participates in International Transgender Day of Visibility

Being a platform that fosters diversity and freedom of expression, we continue to work on making the world a better place, one step at a time. Bigo Live continues to proudly support the LGBTQ+ community on International Transgender Day of Visibility.

For this special day, we are honored to pledge $5,000 to the The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for the young people who identify within the LGBTQ community.

Dedicated to supporting our transgender creators, we will also host a Trans Voices Live House, featuring prominent members of the transgender community to participate in candid conversations about overcoming challenges and obstacles as transgender individuals. We hope to help facilitate an open dialogue and encourage important conversations around mental health issues which directly impact the transgender/LGBTQ community.

According to statistics provided by The Trevor Project, one in three transgender youth reported attempting suicide, about one-third reported being a victim of sexual violence, and more than half have reported a two-week period of depression. About 90 percent of young people who reach out to The Trevor Project experience de-escalation from suicidal thoughts.

We’re honored that transgender creators share their experiences on Bigo Live every day. We will continue to cultivate, appreciate and celebrate our transgender community all year long.
